Honestly, I don't think you can do it. Talk to a professional.
Widening IX weaves

Eric Vaughn's shop is 4 houses down the street from me. He's a cool guy. I'm sure he'll be able to widen them, but trying to bolt on a lip would just be silly.Comment

This has come up before. You can't make them multipiece, or at least multipiece and function. Like the thing posted above, you can widen them, but for the price of a set of ix weaves, spacers, hardware, donor wheel lips and the labor, you might as well just build some RS or even RM

Your question had nothing to do with widening the wheels. You simply wanted to drill holes and add lips. This is not functional, cost efficient, or stable to say the least. Widening the wheels is an option, but the heat used to add the extra material would make your alloy wheels very, very weak and soft.
And to people who think they own threads: get over yourself. Just because you posted the topic doesn't give you control over its content.-tim

Just give it up. Anything can be done, but it would probably be cheaper and wayyyyyyyyyyyy more practical to just buy a 2-3 piece.Comment

I personally like the idea - cut here, here and here, bolt here - done! Multipiece wheels!
But not sure about the outcome... You should try it on your spare first. Put it in the trunk, drive around for a week or so, and if you experience no issues - do the rest!
Go.
And for ultra wide lips, just cut a bucket.

There's a local (to me) guy on vwvortex with an R32 that widened his Aristo's. He cut them down the middle, and I think he might have used an oil barrel to fill them in, changing them from 7.5" to 10" IIRC.
It probably can be done, and it'll probably be pretty safe too. But don't forget, anything can be done with the right amount of money. It may not be worth it to have wheels widened when you could just got ahead and buy wider wheels. Plus keep in mind the offset may not work.

I talked to the machinist that redrilled my wheels, he did this once before for a guy and said he would never do it again because of the amount of work involved lol. Good luck.Comment
