I currently have 215/40/16 Falken 512 on my 16x9 ET15 Borbet B.
I need to lower the front another 0.5-0.75" to make the stance look perfect, but I'm already occasionally kissing the pavement with my ejnight skidplate.
With the Skidplate on I have 1.5" of ground clearance. ejnight tells me the Skidplate takes away 3/4" of clearance, so if I lower the car to where it looks best I am still right back to the same clearance point but now without a Skidplate to protect the oil pan.
As I'm getting anxiety attacks when I go over a bump I know that I have to raise the car up a bit, so getting a tire with more sidewall is needed. So between a 205/45 or a 225/40 (same tire, Falken 512), which would be the best option? Which setup would be taller since they will be be stretched?
If anyone is running a 16x9 setup with a 205/45 or 225/40 if you could post up your ride heights (fender to ground, fender to center of wheel) so I can get an idea of how much clearance I'll get back.
TIA for any information or suggestions.
