    Summer Tires

I know this has probably been asked buy I searched and looked around for a bit and didnt find anything. I need some new summer treads in 205/45/16. Im coming off a set of yokohama A520's and loved them. Im looking to spend less than $400 for all 4. Whats the best tire in that price range for mostly street but spirited and some auto-x.
Note to reader: I have a Mk2 jetta so its a little different. Im asking you guys because no one on vw's sites knows their ass holes from their mouths.

A couple examples I've had experience with....

Sumitomo HTRZ II - this is a cheap tire, period. If you're looking to maintain a budget and just need something to thrash around on for the summer, these are a good candidate.

Falken Azenis Sports - I have run these on 14" wheels. For 16s, the only size available is a 215/45. Stiff side wall, huge amounts of grip in the dry and respectable hold in the wet. Its close to the size you have in mind....and these too are a very cost-effective option. Tires.com carries these.

Most recently, a friend let me borrow a set of 16" Borbets shod with Yoko's AVS ES100 tires in 205/45 size. I've only had a few days to drive on these and I can confidently say these tires stink....now I know why my friend let me borrow them. Corners that I used to take with complete confidence with my Azenis Sports are now more sketchy. I find myself counter-steering to correct my cars' behavior a lot with these. Conclusion: avoid them.

A tire I would like to try is the BFG gForce Sport from tirerack. The reviews sound good....its definately a dry weather tire. For the size you have in mind, plan on paying $71/each for these.

      Good, cheap summer tires?

BFG G-Force Sport (word Jon, these are great tires), and the Hankook K104 is a very solid entry too. Not much else available in that small size.
