Man I have been planning on doing this for awhile but I am just lazy....

Plus the fact that I live on a hill and can't do the work in front of my house. (garage is full too)

That same exact weave in that same location is all fucked up now, it hit a curb at 30-40

Matt, did you clearcoat those basketweaves when you painted them? They do look damn good, I am getting excited to paint mine.

some question, (sorry) When you sanded them did you start out at a rough sandpaper and than go fine? Did you sand each weave of the basket?

              Once again, THanks

The only step I added was to mask off the lips. I just did them today. I'll try to get pics up shortly.

Edit: the new sig is the pic

meh. Walmart has cans of paint for like $2.50 each, and the same for clear coat. That's under $10 if you get some Acetone too.

here is Langsten's write up I used:
Green non-metalic scotch brite pad, with castrol power clean.
each wheel took ~20 mins, rinse fully, wipe down with Acetone while wearing Latex gloves.

                      spray.
                      dry.
clear (if you want to spend the $$)

The color I chose, wanted dark silver or grey, turned out to be "gunmetal" to everyone else and I like it. Strange thing is, it is nearly identical to primer. Funny.

But even covered in dust, they don't look much different. The wheel remains lighter than the tire (which make black wheels look ghetto....) and you don't have to clean them. I still haven't since the HPDE.

It's not like $4 a can is expensive. And these aren't track basketweaves that I am painting.

yeah, you might want to care more about the paint for your T stars, but for everyone else reading the thread....it's a fine option.

The prep Chris recommended worked really well. The Scotch pads were great.

Duplicolor....I just don't like the color for some reason. But looks good on Dave's because of the silver lip, just look stupid/like butt on Matt's.

I have been pretty happy with mine since I finished them, def give them a fair amount of time to dry.
