16x8 "style 5?" rims. Redrill or adapters?

The one thing holding me back from adapters is that they cost more than the damn wheels themselves... What did you guys pay for redrill/fill and where did you get them done? Doesn't seem like there's any shops in New England that perform this service. -
also, his is a two door = different look totallyThat is such a good looking car. Beyond the lip and side skirts, I have been trying to figure out what it is I like about your car so much. The stance of my car vs. your car is very similar, but I think there are two important differences.
1. You see to have better fitment in the rear - I probably need to add a 3mm spacer to bring me out just a bit
2. My wheels are a painted gray and yours are definitely not.

That's what the set I got was listed for on Craigslist (with centercaps, center caps, and lugs) before I got him down to $240 but these came with brand new Michelins for his E38 I sold for $200 on Craigslist. Also if you've looked at the thread, I'd say a re-drill as farm from the "obvious" choice.Leave a comment:

I found a set of style 5's for $300 in great condition with caps.
Does this seem in line with the market?
Obviously I'd need to have them re-drilled.Leave a comment:

They will fit better with a tame height as the slight -camber will help :)
I am running /50 and it works with a bit of a roll so you should be a bit better off with a /45Leave a comment:

That is how they work, tighten them down back them off as needed. You can try different ones on different hubs and get them closer where you don't need to loosen them as much.
You might want to add a little grease or anti seize on them to make the adapter come off them easier in the future.
Also keep an eye on the threaded holes for the lug bolts, I ended up drilling/tapping and adding helicoils as the threads were failing. They really should come with studs and not lug bolts.Last edited by whodwho; 07-07-2012, 03:25 PM.Leave a comment:
