Did they by chance grind down a shit load on on the outer part of the center where the bolt holes are? I got my spacers for 175 shipped, because they said they would give me a "discount" because I bitched at them grinding down the outer part. I don't think it was a discount but oh well.

I dont understand why they didn't fill the entire hole.
I have no idea either, I asked and they said that's how they do them.

no grinding down, and I had sent them a picture of elcaminolv's wheels but they said the same thing, "thats how the do them". At least I will get a free powder coat and stud kit out of this from motorsporttech.

my fronts were done the same way, I was really expecting a clean job like what Ive seen from LAX. I just didnt want to spend all that money on shipping so I had them done locally. As a matter of fact they only filled a couple holes on each wheel. Same comment, 'thats how we do it all the time" and showed me wheels that they "double drill" for two diff bolt patterns.

and backs, theres plenty of meat between lugs so Im not worried about it. I have mixed feeling about the wheels anyhow seeing how my car isnt lowered.

You have way too many holes in that wheel.

I don't really see what the issue is with the OP's picture. They just didn't clean that big burr off the one lug hole on the back side. The new holes look spot on. And the welding looks sound. That's what aluminum looks like if you weld it without stripping the powder coating from the surrounding areas. The burr area could be fixed in less than a minute with any number of conventional tools.

so here is an update on the wheels...they are in powder coat, should have them back this week. The results so far look STELLAR!

So to get from "ruined" to "stellar" all they had to do was trim the burr and mill the welds so they look neater?

I still question the integrity of those wheels and I think this has made me come to the conclusion that I will never run re-drilled style 5's. the center bore comes just too close to a 4x100 fitment for my comfort.

The forces applied to a wheel are mostly centrifugal, not lateral. It's fine to be that close.

you would consider this okay even under track conditions? I absolutely love the
look of this wheel on an e30 but wouldn't put it to the test if questionable.

I only showed one wheel in the pic to show the shitty workmanship and it only got worse...these new pics are what fill and re-drills normally look like. Like I said they more than made up for the inconvenience, free shipping, free powder coat and free stud bolts(Turner bolts). Oh and I won't be tracking my vert anytime in the near or distant future,so I wont have to worry about wheel integrity.

Check out the center bore on most 4x100 aftermarket wheels. A 72mm center bore is the norm and a 74mm is not uncommon.

Wow thats fucked, junior did well for me with my adapters. Something must have gone wrong, there an up and coming company if there smart and want to make it in this world they will do you a solid by repairing or replacing. As mentioned i have nothing against motorsporttech at this time.
