    15X8 Kosei Project...Feedback Appreciated

Just ordered a set of 15x8 Kosei K1 Race from the TireRack. They only had them in Miata fitment with a 54mm centerbore and -35mm offset. I've ordered a set of 12mm spacers and plan on having the centerbores machined out to fit the e30/spacers...

Does anyone have any experience with having centerbores machined out? If so, any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Also, anyone know a good shop in NorCal to have this done?

It's a bummer that you can't just order these in direct fitment any more. Good luck.

Any machine shop should be able to do the work.

Is the centerbore custom to the Miata, or are they like other Koseis where hubcentric rings are used? I would think with 12mm spacers, you'd have enough room to just modify the spacer and not the wheel.

Good point. You should be able to get a spacer made for the job.

They're custom to the Miata for SCCA STR Class...TireRack confirmed they have a 54mm centerbore.

There's a forum member here - RobE30? - who can make spacers to fit a Miata wheel to a E30 hub.

I already ordered the spacers and I'd rather have the centerbores bored out to 57.1mm than go with custom spacers. Also the custom spacer guys are getting a lot of flack here lately (THIS: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=205760 )

Is this really true? I spoke with a shop in Oakland that has a special machine to turn wheels on...but hey, I'm no expert on machining...
