    Show mee 16" tire sizes

16x7.5 wheels, standard E30 body, total offset will be 20 rear and 23 front OR 27 all around depending on which spacers set we go with.

    I know 205/50 works.

Anything 215? 225? What are you experiences?

225/45/16 will work on a 7.5" wheel from ET22-ET27 or so. If anything as you go towards ET22 you may have a slight rub in the rear depending on suspension stiffness (stock wouldn't rub in case it's still stock). The fix is a minor roll on the rear lips. Some tires (S-03's, BFG's, a few other very sticky tires) run a bit wide so you'll want to specify what tire you'd like to run.

This going on your friend's pristine late-car right? You have slightly less room to work with in the back, but what I said still applies.

        My experiences:

16x7.5" ET20 rim, 205/50-16 Yoko AVS ES100's. No rubbing whatsoever. Plenty of clearance to the fenders front and rear, and to the struts.

16x7" ET20, 205/50-16 BFG g-Force Sports. Close but no rubbing in the rear. Front much closer to fenders, and occaisonal rubbing of the front of the wheel on the front of the fender lines (I have offset CABs).

You know how low my car is.

TJ is noticing the fine aspect of G-Force Sports, that they run 10mm wider than ES100's in every size. Great if you have the room, bad if you don't. If you ran those tires on the Stars, you'd be rubbing like crazy.

The skinnier rim also bubbles up the side walls a little bit. I love these tires though, the side walls are so meaty and look serious.

If I was to get G-Sports, I'd have to run 215 instead of 225?

Actually the half inch sarificed wheel width actually brings in the tire 2/10" total. It just looks like it's wider because they're now 4/10" further outside the rim on each side.

I love the wide-tire look too. There are 225/50's on 7.5" wheels on my mom's E46, and they look so meaty, ready to be [i]driven[i] on.

I've been talking about that for a couple weeks on the forum now. 215/50/15 G-Force sports are actually the exact same width as 225/50/15 ES100's, so if you get those you're not sacrificing anything performance-wise. 225/50/15 BFGs are a good 3/10" wider, and will literally be right on the strut in the back. S-03's are just 1/10" wider and I know those will not work.

Basically no one has tried, and it's a 50/50 chance until they do and report back.

FWIW, I'm running 225/50-15 BFG G-Force Sports on 15x7 et25 wheels. I also have offset CABs. No rubbing whatsoever, even during autocrossing.

So 225/45/16 ES100's on ET25 will be no good?

I got a set of 16x7 ET25 on the way. Will it fit? Gotta make my choice between 225/45 and 205/50.

You should be fine on that setup.

Yeah, it's the extra half inch of width that the Ronals have the makes it an issue.

Running 215/45-16 on 16x7's with ET20. Stock fenders, no rubbing. Although I do have more camber dialed in up front. Size looks perfect IMO.
