    Ronal LS Tires

I'm getting a set of Ronal LS's (sometime) in the future, and I'm wondering what the best size would be. I DID do a search, and saw that some people seemed to say 205/50/15, but more went with 225/50/15. However, some people mentioned that the 225 tires might rub a little, which doesn't sound too good to me. Is this true, and how big of an issue is it?

Btw, I have H&R Sport springs, if that matters. And the tires I'm leaning towards right now are Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2.

    Thanks.

That tire isn't made in a 225/50, so there goes that idea.

Best compromise: 215/50/15 BFG G-Force Sport. Try a 225/50/15 BFG if you want to take the slight chance it'll rub the front strut, no one has tried it yet.

The only reason to run a 205/50 is to use either of the crazy 200-treadwear (i.e. don't expect more than 10k out of) Falken RT-615 or Hankook R-S2. That size is too small, but those tires are worth it if you wanna go all out.

I'm pretty sure it is. At least thats what I thought the tire rack said.

        New size. Nice.

Just looked at the spec sheet, that tire is the red-flag 9.4" wide on a 7.5" rim. That is the exact width of the BFG KD's, and those rub too much to drive the car at all.

Just FYI, the BFG G-Force 225/50 is 9.3" wide, so far I don't know anyone who has tried them. I think it may just be enough to fit, and if no one gets around to attempting it I'll do it my damn self in the spring.

Ok great thanks. So the BFG G-Force Sport are good. What else? (I'm trying to make a list of ones to look at)

I'm running 225 bfg g-force sports on LS. Does not rub the strut. But other places...

Actually, do you think the 215 g-sports would rub? They seem to be the best tires I can find that will actually fit and not rub, as far I can tell. I have heard that the side wall is somewhat soft--is this a big deal and how bad is it? Are these good overall tires?

                Ha! Finally!

I can sleep at night now.

Everyone buy 225/50/15 G-Force Sports for their Ronals now, it's an awesome tire. Just, take it easy in the rain (where you shouldn't be pushing it anyways!).

They do have pretty soft sidewalls but running fairly high cold PSI's can help a lot. They are great street tires.

I agree on the sidewall thing. I noticed a difference right away going from ES100s- feels a little less 'direct'. It does go away to a degree once you bump up the pressures a bit, and they have plenty of grip once they're warmed up. Straight line traction is excellent, too.

I came from ES100's as well, and running the same tire pressures (street) there is a noticable difference under hard cornering, but that doesn't make it a bad tire.

                          on the front?

I want Ronals too. Will 225s have any chance of rubbing on GC?
