when my tires wear out what size?

i have 205/50/16 on all 4 rims right now which are 16x7" now the front is absolutely perfect size and the closest they come to rubbing is about 5mm IF that so i wont touch the tire size up front...but the rear deffinatly needs a wider beefier tire to fill in the rear...the 205s look to skinny and thin....i was wondering if i could put like 215/55/16 in the rear

heres a pic of the rear

and heres a pic of the front

now when i first got these wheels i put one right up next to my stock wheels....and these were quite a bit bigger overall...so im pretty sure the speedo is now off and probably needs to be calibrated....how would i go about doing that?

eh anyways my main question is what tire size should i put in the rear to fill it in cause the 205/50 just isnt cutting it

and btw please dont say anything about there only being 3 studs in the wheel i know this i had to drill out one of the studs because there cheap ass ebay studs and nuts i just put the wheels on so i could see how low the suspension dropped and so i could move my car into the correct parking spot.....im getting either the bbs studs or the turner studs from tms next paycheck

215/55-16 is way too big. Doing the math in my head, that's almost 1 1/2" diameter bigger than stock. Someone correct me if I'm way off.

      Go with 225/45-16.

Why don't you want a shorter sidewall? It will make your rolling diameter closer to stock, so you won't have recalibrate your speedo. Plus, having a taller tire makes the overall gear ratio taller, so your car will not accelerate as fast.

I don't see why you don't want anything shorter than 50 series. Are you just worried about having a smooth ride?

i dont know i just think cars look better when you can actually see rubber plus my front is WAY lower then my rear and a taller sidewall on the rear might fill in the rear fender a little bit more thats all i was thinking...hell i just lowered the car on its nuts obviously the ride comfort isnt of much concern

ill probably just go with 215 or 225/45 in the rear and 205/45 in the front

Although a taller tire would fill up the rear fender more, it would also raise the back end up more... So, the back end would be even higher up than before.

I would recommend running 215/45-16 or a 225 if it will fit without rubbing

If you have correct offset you should be able to go 225/45 no worries in the back. Just keep it at 205/50 in the front, as that is a pretty close match as well.

Oh yeah. don't skimp on decent rubber, just might keep you from hitting that lampost one day.

                  The "50" isn't the sidewall height, its a percentage. A 205/50-16 and 225/45-16 have almost exactly the same sidewall height. For a 205/50, the sidewall height is .50 x 205mm. For a 225/45, the sidewall is .45 x 225.

                  Get it?

As for sizing, just do 205/50-16s.

well looks like 50 is too large so i need 45 to be exactly at stock diameter...

so i will keep 205/45/16 front and 225/45/16 rear my wheels are et38 but i have 20mm spacers

You want 205/50-16 in the front, not 205/45. 205/50-16 and 225/45-16 are the 2 closest tire sizes in 16. Your speedo will barely be off with those.

I have no clue why you want to go with a staggered tire setup, especially on those rims. If you want meatier tires, go 225/45-16 all around.

                          225-section width/45 aspect ratio-16 wheel diameter

the middle number is in relation to the section width... a larger section width with the same aspect ratio will have a taller sidewall than the smaller width

edit: what you really want are 215/40-16 on a 9" wide wheel.... or even better continental makes the conti sport in 195/40-16

i dont want staggard but theres no possible way i can go any wider in the front i would love to go 225 in the front but its impossible my front wheels at the closest point to rubbing are honestly less then a centimeter from rubbing it is god damn close...but the rears have so much extra god damn room i would like some wider tires thats all....im just wondering what the optimal tire size would be in the rear...
