I have had both Hankooks, the V12s and the V4s. The V12s are equal if not better than the S drives and the V4s are an all season that last longer. I got about 30k out of the v12s and am at 35k on the v4s. I don't think the V12s can be beat for the money, if you want a dedicated summer tire.

I have the 912 Falkens on my S10 and it actually handles quite well with them.

Got my S.drives today and they look purdy. Once my wheels are refinished and the tires are mounted I will post some pics!

Nope still being produced, we get a couple dozen off our factory truck twice a week.

Holy shit tire prices have gone up a lot since 08. Also, the article said the Falken 912 replaced the 512 and that's not true. They're still making the 512 today.

But hey, at least the ones you got are supposed to be pretty quiet. All the better to hear you [M20] with, my dear.

I have nexen cp641 in the rear, im hpy with the grip but they suck inthe rain, decent sidewall. Also running a nexen n2000 in the front very nice flat sidewall and the run prety wide for a 205/50

my goodness the super sports sound amazing :D
I've driven with both in my E30 and can tell you that the Star Specs inspire a bit more confidence in the dry, but are pretty worrisome when you're on a wet road surface. The Super Sports are a lot quieter, ride better, last longer, and feel better in the wet. My coworker and I run the same size and we decided to trade tires for a week just to compare :p. All considered I prefer the Pilots, but they are a bit more expensive. If I were choosing between the two for an auto-cross set it would be the Star Specs no doubt, but with every day driving in mind the Michelins win my favor.

Now what I really want to try out is the Pilot Sport Cup. Those just look like way too much fun.

I'm convinced that people who say they like their 512s have never actually had a decent set of tires. I bolted on a set of wheels with some 512s mounted on them and it seriously made my E30 unenjoyable to drive. I absolutely love my Pilot Super Sports and I don't think I'll be able to ever run anything even close to a 512 on my car.
