I think that might be quite a challenging fitment to run 255s, since they're going to be pretty tall. There are plenty of great tires in that size though, like Dunlop Star Specs or Hankook R-S3s.

Well 17 by what? Dunlop Z1, hankook RS3, Yokahoma AD08 are all good tires. What fender flares are you using or are you just flaring the guards? you can fit 235 on 17x8 which is a fare amount of grip. I would probably recommend getting the DTM fibreworks rivet on flares.

Secondly if you are pouring so much money into the E30 why don't you start a build thread, we would all like to see what is going on and we all love the money shots.

Thirdly, try to make your post a bit more comprehensive and interesting saying that you have 17 inch wheels and are going to put 255 on it is great but how much power are you putting down are you open to rivet on flares, in that case why not get some custom CCW and run 285's.
