    Winter tires

Since I now have a dedicated winter car i'd like to buy winter tires for the first time.

Are any winter tires with the snowflake symbol going to cut it or is it worth the money for blizzaks???

It looks like no name winter tires can be had for ~$50 each but I think blizzaks are twice that much or more.

Hakkapellita's or Nokian's for snow performance, Blizzack for icey conditions. Dunlop Graspics for both.

Basically anything in the Nokian line can serve you well. From hardcore deep-snow trudgers to H/V-rated performance winters, you can get what you want there.

And yes, there IS a difference.

The car is a camry (FWD) - will having winter tires on the back make a difference?

you don't want to mix snow tires with regular tires, no matter the drive layout. put them on all 4 wheels.. the rear wheels don't move you forward but they do help you stop and stay on the road.

            Okay, sounds good.

            I didn't want to buy 4 if i didn't need to.

            Thanks,
