Aftermarket wheels off other cars that fit E30s?

Assuming 4x100 + spacers, do aftermarket wheels made for other cars fit our E30s properly? Or do you lose the hubcentric fit,big no-no??

96 Mazda Miata, or other year Miatas with same pattern. Plug that in at the tirerack and you can see some options. The offset, however, is different from the E30s. Most are much higher, high 30s to 40s. So you would have to run spacers.

Thanks. Any idea if Fords are compatible?

Don't know, but I doubt it. Keep in mind, the E30 is a rear wheel drive platform, so the offsets are different than wheels for front wheel drive cars.

But he said he is going to run spacers.

Many Hondas (Civics) and Acuras (Integras) are 4x100. My rims are Honda rims.

Some of the older VWs are 4x100 with the same 57.1mm centerbore. Offsets are higher on the dubs, though.

My 16 x 7.5 Borbet Type E's had to be ordered for a '96 Civic EX.
              4x100, ET35, and Honda (66-67mm?) centerbore.

You can run wheels designed for other cars just fine if you use spacers to get the right offset, and the intended car has the same or bigger hub size. Then use hubcentering rings (plastic, ~$20) if you're not using hubcentric spacers.

Well unless you get custom spacers like Trent, hubcentric spacers will be hubcentric to the E30 hub (57.1mm) and then you will still need a hub centering ring for the rims. My rims have a 67mm hub so I got 57.1->67.1mm rings from discounttiredirect.com for $15 shipped.

Yeah, i just forgot to mention the spacers, I guess I was just pointing out the differences for info's sake. I had 15mm spacers with my MMs too.

I stand corrected. I've only used non-hubcentric spacers. I didn't think about needing hubcentric spacers and rings since the wheels are for another size hub. Seems obvious to me now. Thanks TJ.

It's a lot to keep track of. When I sold my throwing stars I had to order tires, the rims, the hubcentric rings, the spacers, the studs, and the lug nuts.

Yeah I never want to buy non-E30 specific wheels again... only used, stock factory wheels or completely custom made for now on.

Well my throwing stars were E30 specific and I knew what I was getting into when I bought my Rota's. I don't mind them at all, I'd say they are actually easier to work with than the throwing stars were because I have the studs now. I'd never run spacers without studs, it'd be so hard to mount them.

That's my main complaint. I like being able to just throw wheels on a car and assume they fit correctly.

ya, especailly when you cant count like me. I didnt check my turnermotorsport cart very closely and ordered 8 instead of 16 lugs. and they use Ups(brown = shit).
