You can do it to any hub. All you would have to do is drill the threaded holes out to the correct size for the stud to fit, then just press (hammer) them in. I've never seen a car where the factory studs threaded in.

If you do that, couldn't they like fall/vibrate out?

No, they are knurled. They squash in, and can't pull out. They can't fall out either.

Oh okay that makes sense. I assumed it'd just be smooth metal.

you could, but there's no point with lots of quality studs you can buy that just thread in with no problems.

I have seen several cases where the studs have either cross threaded/pulled out, which would be impossible if they were pressed in from the back.

But yeah, mostly thread in studs work fine. Seems like press in ones are cheaper though as they are more well know and used.

ive been thinking about going to a stud conversion kit on my hubs.

are they really worth it? ive understand the advantages at the track for quick wheel changes. but other then that is there much added bonuses?

if you cross thread them, then you're an idiot. :p

I don't see how they could pull out unless the threads were damaged? stock bolts don't just pull out, and they're way harder on the threads in the hub than studs are.
