Just saw your thread on S14. Crazy.
Your paint looks awesome, btw
How to check clearance without actually driving the car?

I believe M3 track has a 12.1mm difference between front and rear (rear obviously wider). I am on eibach pro springs which claim to lower me 1" front and rear but I don't think it is that much. My rims are 7.5 with ET18 and no spacers running 225/45/16 R1Rs. I have THR cabs and late e36 M3 control arms to increase castor and center the wheel in the arch.I am on H&R Sport, which is a 1” / F and .75” / R drop, IIRC. I have no clearance issues in front, even with the 5mm spacer. I would have gone with a 3mm spacer up front (I don’t know if 3mm’s are available), but don’t know to what degree the calipers expand once hot , so went with the 5s.
To my naked eye, with no spacers it appeared that the front track was wider than the rear, so I got 12mm spacers for the back. There is literally 2mm space between the tire and the fender lip, but the tracks are even now.
Hope you get you situation resolved quick. What suspension are you on?
And, what is a fronton?
Fronton is the name of my favorite beach escape. It makes no sense with e30s or being on a forum, its just my username. No, my license plate does not read fronton. I photoshopped it for my sig.Leave a comment:

I am surprised your driver side tire isn't rubbing or getting sliced by the fender with e30 M3 control arms. I've had to mess with everything am and still have slight rub at just the wrong angle/weight distribution on the front driver tire

Yeah mon. My mistake - for some dumb reason I thought I was the only one that had to run spacers on the E38 Style 5
I used a 12mm spacer at the back, which may be a lil much. But the wheel is flush, and it looks purty.
Thanks for the help and support, mang.Leave a comment:

Woohoo!
Should of told us 225/45!
That size is perfect for the 8" on an M3.Leave a comment:

So, I rolled slowly down the driveway and then cranked the wheel to full lock. No rubbing!!!Oh okay.
You can definitely put a jack under the arm with no ill effect, but I'd honestly just try it out on a driveway and have a spotter.
To be honest, almost every lowered car at full lock will touch fender when tilted going up a driveway. In lots of Member's Ride threads you see a tiny bit of fender pulled out from it haha.

That ship has already sailed, amigo. I have E38 Style 5s and new tires (225/45) ;)Although it has wide fenders, big wheels often will rub either on the body behind the wheel or plastic liner in front and occassionally grab the fender lip on inclines while turning. How to stop it? ....stock wheels and tire dimensions and stockish ride height suspension.
Thanks fellas!Leave a comment:
