    What's good for those, 10k miles? I got about 40k miles out of my last set of tires with frequent rotations. So 2-3 times the the initial cost and replacing them 4 times as often seems like an expensive proposition. 8-12x the price in a 3 year period. I hope to get 30k miles out of these and they cost a third the amount of a "good" tire.

    I'll get track tires for my track wheels. Don't need them for the street.

      I think what he's trying to say is you can get more grip out of a high quality narrower tire then you can with a low quality wider tire. There's 205 width tires out there that probably grip more then your 245.

      That's not to say you bought the wrong tires though. There's many factors in choosing the best tire.

        Always roll your fenders.

        I had issues with my 16x8 e38 Style 5's running 205/50/16's. (The extra 10mm hubcentric spacers were clearly the problem but they were all I had available at the time.)
