looks good either way. the question is, "are you willing to mess with your hard to find wheels?"

It would look good, but you already have the bottlecaps painted black. I say leave 'em, and throw on the bottlecaps when you want the black/silver combo.

They can always become silver again.

Well for me, it was either buy new wheels or make the best of what I had, and I had a pretty nice (straight) set of wheels. Here is what i had to start with. My dad bought these gold/silver things back in the day when they were a bit more popular.

when the car was sold it had these on it and when we got it back, the clear coat had been destroyed by brake dust. I cleaned them as best as I could but i just didnt like the gold. Here is what I ended up with.

they are 15 inch O.Z. fittipaldi wheels. Basically a BBS basketweave knock-off. Most similar to e9nines wheels. I have a set ot 205/55/15s on their way and will have these rims on the car shorty. I really like the deeper lip of these wheels compared to the other basketweave rims.

Are those wheels pretty common? I yearn for a pair of gold-centered wheels for my bronzit!

I couldnt tell you how common those fittipaldis are, but I have seen some gold/silver baskets out there. My dad bought those wheels probably in 1992, so its been quite awhile. you can try to look for those fittipaldis, they probably dont make them anymore, but im sure there may be some sets out there. Ronal may also make a similar set, no guarentees there though. I know bbs made a set in a 2 or 3 piece wheel. Not sure how close they are to those. If i would have known some guys may have actually wanted these wheels i would have sold them.. I am still considering selling them down the road for some 16s. Maybe they will grow on me.

My dad just bought some throwing stars for the e28, right now im running 17x9 T-stars on the rear with the TSW's up front (they didnt have the right size for the front in stock). My dad wants to paint the covers black, so that means it'll probably happen. I'd like to see what yours look like though

You probably already did it but, why do you want to hide those cool rims under black?
                        Leave them how they are..

                        BTW: Where'd you get them?

How would a professional painter make normal paint stick to the wheel, wouldn't it have to be roughed up?

Hey TJ, what you think about my Pshopped sig? Ted gave me the idea........

If you don't, I defintely want to. Plus my borbets aren't stylish enough. Your rims are unique and pimping. :)

I don't have the money to do this now, a 5 speed is going to come first, maybe even GC's...
