    tire size suggestions?? BBS content

i finally got my hands on a set of BBS RS 4x100, and im having a hard time figuring out tire specs for what id like to accomplish. specs are...
    17x8.5 ET13
    17x9.5 ET16

what i would like is as much rubber as possible, filling the eurostop fenderflares, not interested in the streched look, im going to need the traction. how wide have any board members gone with the flares and 17s???

ive been playing around with tire calculators, and i cant find any tire size available to retain a 24" diameter as factory. 275, 285 out back would be awesome, but everything available seems to be to 25" or bigger.

    R3V help me out!!!

I have some 255's here that will fit on the rear, they are federal RSR's so they run wide like most motorsport tyres. A bit wider than a normal 275 when you compare them. Also got some 235/45R17's for the front, but Im thinking I might have to return them and run 235/40's as the 45's might be a little too tall to clear the spring perches on my coilovers.

But the OD is an inch bigger than stock. heheh. Are you just worried about the speedo being out? if so, the 235/40R17 is pretty much the perfect size of width while maintaining close to stock OD. Its about 10mm difference than the original 195/65R14's. But I hate to break it to you, there is nothing you can put on a 9.5" width wheel that isn't going to look stretched and still maintain close to factory rolling diameters. You need a big tyre to fill those wheels and virtually nobody makes a 35 or 30 profile which you'll need to get the OD down. Toyo make an R1R which you can get in a 245/35R17 and is about the widest tyre ive seen that's going to be even close to 610mm OD.

Looks like they may have started out as rc090, but they are full blown custom now.

I'm funning the 255's in the rear. I'm probably going to change the centers to be et-5

Just filling in the gap. I shaved the backs 7mm because i was afraid the tires would rub the flares back when i wanted 275/40s. Then my buddie put some on his e34 touring and they were super tall. No way they'd work on an e30. I'd have an easier time with 295/35s but those would look silly on a 10. I'd need at least 11-12" wide. 265/40s might work. But i think i'm better off with the 255s. Your wheels are even narrower so i'd stick with the 245r 235f for a nice look and run some spacers to fill out the flares. The rim protector on federals are huge and will hang past the lip if you don't slightly stretch them.

well i think im going to go out on a limb here and tryout some 265/40/17 in the rear and 235/40/17 in the front, anyone have experience with michelin sport PS2s? any other good suggestions? id like something decent for the track, i dont think ill run the BBS daily so im not to worried about tire wear.

how about some suggestions for drag radials in the back??
