    1 Nut

The 1 nut deal isn't fast unless you got big bucks.. There is a coefficient of expansion (titanium and magnesium) that requires 4 guns minimum. Each side is directional. You need a cold/off-cold/on and hot/off-cold/on guns for right and left sides. The quick sockets and torque adjustable air guns are $6000 a set. That's $36,000 using only two(right and left) for cold work for IRL, Indy, and F1 not counting spares. The alternative is to do them with commercially available air guns and six-sided sockets then manual checking with a three foot breaker bar/torque wrench on 300 lb/ft. Other than top level racing they're for show.

You only put on/take off one nut instead of 4 when you take the wheel on/off. It saves time when you're in the pits. Duh.

    Oh yeah!

The price for the pictured setup is really good. At least $15-$20K for new stuff. But, all you see when they're on the car is the one nut. A look that is easily faked. .0001 percent of the population would even know if they were real. For real 1-nuts, there is no cheap way to go.

    1-lug conversion?

is it possible to do a 1-lug conversion without fabricating anything and without dropping down a ludicrous amount of money per hub?
Working...
