Death trap? I fucked a Mazda Speed and only dented my hood and broke a headlight. It totalled his car beyond repair.

i hit an 08 tahoe with my e30 and got nothing more than a dent on the left fender and a broken grill. the tahoe had the left fender, door shell, rocker panel, and the runnig board replaced.

It turns out that rapidly decelerating the human body causes injury, and the slower you can do that the better. One of the best ways to slow the speed of a wreck is to have the car compress. The car may not survive, but you will.

If you don't think that lowering the deceleration of the collision by a few feet maters, try running headlong into a brick wall, and then a brick wall covered with one inch of thick foam. Decelerating over 1 inch is far better than in 1 mm.
