    BBS RS wheel fitment

    Hypothetical question time.

IF I were to do the e30 m3 supsension swap (if I keep the car long term, this is something I will do), would a 16x7, ET11 wheel fit the car without sticking out of the fenders?

I have a line on a set of BBS RS 005s - 16x7, ET11, 5x120. I would like them to be a bit deeper, say, 16x7.5. I could replace the lips and achieve that, but would they fit then?

    Anybody have any idea?

You had better keep your car long term. what offset to use confuses me with the 5 lug conversions.

They should fit. IIRC offset is 15 for M3.

That may be true, BUT, the M3 of course has wider fenders to accomodate the lower offset, right? So then, would an et11 stick too far out? I hope to "test" fit in a few days, that should help, but thanks for the input anyway.

E36 parts - think High numbers

          E30 M3 parts think Low

Since they are 3 pece then you can swap them around to your likeing.

the M3 fenders arent really wider, just the wheel well goes up further. from the outer edge of the wheelwell on the norm. E30, the M3 goes straight up.
so if the car isnt really low, you should have no problems.
here is a pic of a 18" RS with M3 rear suspension, on a normal E30. yes the tires are euro gayness stretched, but you know you want em.

              LOL, not so much.

Are you seriously saying the fenders are not wider on the M3? ??? I don't get that. Explain again please.

My car does sit pretty low actually, I'm on H&R Race. I wouldn't say it's slammed, but it IS low. My offset on the Kopis is 20mm and they sit pretty damn close to the outer edge of the body. There is a bit of play maybe, but not much. I am just not sure if the 11mm will push them on out. Also, IF I did the lip swap and made them another .5in to 1in. wider, what does that do to the offset? It should make it that much lower, right?

Maybe this picture helps with the m3 fender thing:

They won't stick out per se, but they will completely fill the fenders. The track does not change when you use all E30 M3 parts, so the offsets should stay the same as you have now.

And if you make them 7.5" wide, they would be ET5.

If you keep them 7" wide, you can likely get away with 205 tires. Go 7.5" and I have no promises.

Old front setup: ET20 style 5s 17 x 8 on my car which ended up being ET10 after my spacers (for caliper clearance). Turning radius sucked but no fender pulling.

So, going to a 7.5 WILL change the offset then. I was afraid of that. Is it rubbing issues I would be facing, or the wheels actually protruding from the fenders? I mean will rolling the fenders at that point do any good?

So, with an ET10 (pictured?), your turning radius suffered due to rubbing?

Shit, I am so confused. Clear this up for me: 16x7 w/ET11 is the same or close to 17x8 w/ET10 as to how it would sit in relation to the fenders? That is, is it the width of the wheel or the offset that affects how it sits in relation to the fenders?
