Whoa whoa whoa....let's get something straight here.

Airik is running some serious negative camber, which his coilovers and plates allow him to do. There is no way ET10 17x8's with 215's can fit without that advantage.

Robert, ask Matt about his 15x7 ET13 wheels. Those MiM's were about that, and with 225's he was messing up his fenders, bad. Like I said, 205's would make it.

The wheels will start protruding, but if you keep to 205s rolling will solve it.

Still, don't back down to that tire man. Performance > Aesthetics.

I absolutely subscribe to the function before form school of thought, BUT, there ARE other choices. This is the deal. I can buy this set of BBS RS for $500. BUT, if they are not going to offer what I am looking for, I may just sell them for what I can get, and buy what I want. I don't want to go to a 205 series tire, that's just not enough meat.

Here's the pics of them. They are really dirty but there are no bends and no curbing. They look like they might be oxidized, and I do realize that they aren't much to look at right now, but the potential to look amazing is lurking beneath all that dirt.

They are 16s and I would most likely replace the tires. They have sat for at least a year or so and most likely are dry rotted.

Making the lips bigger on 3 piece rims makes the rims stick out more, i.e. lowering the offset. You aren't changing where the spokes or the main hoop sit, just the outter lip.

I think everything else has been covered already.

That's what I was assuming. So, in the end then, to clear this up, IF I go to a wider lip, then these things most likely WILL extend beyond the lip of the fender, achieving that most undesireable EURO look. Right?

They most definately would. My rims are flush with the fenders and they are 16x7" ET20, I think even ET11 will stick out slightly.

Yes. So to get that deep dish look you need new inner and outer lips.

                    Still not a bad price.

Lips will be about $1k for inner and outer. You could probably sell the stock stuff for a few hundred. You would still be money ahead.

When you say inner, you are referring to the barrels? See, then it becomes not worth the hassle, and I should just sell these for whatever I can get for them, and put that toward something that fits to begin with.
