I wouldn't go larger than a 16'' if you aren't very low, and always a taller tire. Undersized tires are horrible at every height.1985 M10b18. 70maybewhpoffury. Over engineered S50b30 murica BBQ swap in progress.

Sound advice, that's what I've been observing thus far. And I'm definitely liking the meaty tire for a functional heightComment

Thought you might like more reference, here's my sedan on H&R sports (#29663). Wheels are 16x7.5 ET20, 205/50/16 tires. Stock spring pads etc.

Really nice looking!
I guess the formula is definitely 15" or 16" with decent sized tiresComment

This is about an inch overall undersize at 225/45/15, on H&R race springs, the wheel gap is noticeable. The car is M10 powered, so lighter than the average E30. I want 225/50 R-comps, that will give me about an inch oversize and it will sit amazing.
Point is, if undersize give me that much gap on race springs, it will be horrid on sport springs.1985 M10b18. 70maybewhpoffury. Over engineered S50b30 murica BBQ swap in progress.

Sorry for the crappy instagram pictures

This is mine on H&R Sports with Borbet A's 16x7.5s ET20 205/50/16. I think it looks pretty good, I'm there could be less wheel gap but I have no rubbing or clearance issues what so ever. I'm also running M3 CABS now.
I'll get a better picture tomorrow and post back.Comment
