    New tire time stock basketweaves

    I can't tell from the mounted picture, but are these on stock basketweaves? I am under the impression that the largest tire I can run on the basketweaves is 205-60-14 is that correct?

        205/60/r14

        Hi everyone;

        It's time to replace the tires on my E30 and am looking into seeing about the possibility of a wider tire; ideally I'd like a 205/60/R14 as to not increase the height of the tire on my stock vehicle (yes, it has a lot of wheel clearance; I like that).

        Seems like this tire size is pretty hard to find anymore with only some odd-brands selling them. I am going to probably write to tirerack and other sites to see if they can get them, but first I'd figure I'd ask if this is a good way to go with this upgrade regardless. I'm on stock basketweave rims and have no intention of changing rims, and want all-season tires; the car will see rain but it will be garaged when it snows.

        I've done some searching on the forums but it seems the results that come up has other objectives in their choices; ride noise, low-profile, track-only, etc. This is my daily-driver; I don't mind paying good money for good tires but I don't care about looks with low-pros or ride-softness/noise. Performance & all-weather, that's it.

        Or should I just go with the stock size and buy good quality tires? Seems that may be how I go.

        Currently on the car are Sumimoto HTR A/S P01's (if I remember correctly) in the stock size 195/60/R14.

        Thanks.

            My new tires are 195/50/15 Kumho AST's. I havent gotten to drive the car yet with the new setup but I will report back once I do. From what I have read its a decent tire for the money

              205/60/14 on weaves. Love it. Hate how 195s look.

                cheapest "acceptable" tire. yaya the side wall is only like 5mm smaller than a 195/60

                65's are just so huge

                          They are 225/45-16 mounted on e38 filled and drilled style 5s.

                              So did I, if you got a good price hang on to them. I have about 14k on these tires now on my 15x7 K1's I have auto-x'ed them at 3 events and generally drive like a jack ass on these tires @ all times as my e30 is more or less a toy. These tires hold up well, are pretty grippy, and I have overall been pleased with them. I live in southeastern NC where winter tires aren't needed though. I expect another 2-3k out of these tires.

                                Hey probably a dumb question, but I need to raise my front end a bit to give me some suspension travel. Where do you get thicker spring pads to raise it?

                                also, should I get S drives or Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 for a 204/55/15 wheel? Daily driver mostly, a little auto x/track duty.
