are there any other tire choices in 225/50/15 rather than the Kumho exta act's? seems like all i cam find are those and street/racing tires.

    i want a dedicated summer/wet tire, not an all-season.

but either way how are the AST's?

Looking to get wider tires in the rear but in order to do that I need to replace my bottlecaps with something else. Thinking Kosei or Borbet.

If someone makes one I sure haven't found it. Seems like all of the UHP 225/50R15 have gone the way of the dodo.

Anyone using Conti Extreme DW in a 205-50-16? How long have you had them? Thoughts on them?

They are great. Lotsa monies (just under 3k converted) but the best money I've spent on the car. It's obviously stiff at nearly 700f/900 equivalent rear but I love how controlled everything is. Road imperfections are very nicely filtered, keeps grip over whatever surface I throw at it. I get a lot of compliments at track days about how planted my car looks and I definitely have a lot of confidence in the suspension.

It's a true coilover rear, so I've reinforced the rear shock towers for peace of mind. They are AST sportline 2's, which is the european version of their 5100s. Single adjustable, upside down fronts with 44mm strut, true coilover with helper springs all around.

oh and M-Technik, I replied in your thread.

I don't have much meaningful to say on the NT05s yet. Obviously they are a gigantic step up from the Contis.

              1- goodrich kdw
              2- falken fk452
              3- nexen n3000

any other suggestions? its my daily car and my concerns for the tires are dry grip, wet grip and noise level. "i hate noisy tires" it rains a lot in PR so wet grip is a most.
The lack of 225/45-16 tires is such a pain in the ass. I live in a cold variable climate, daily my car, and want something that isn't noisy, isn't crazy, doesn't suck, and isn't crazy expensive.

After speaking with Falken and some actually tire resellers, it appears that the 225/45-16 size is going to be harder to find in daily driver friendly tire varieties.

Thankfully, Falken still has a handful of ZE-512s available in 225/45-16. They only exist in the Tennessee warehouse, and can only be sold by discount tire.

I ordered another set today :)

They definitely are, I believe the tread width is something like 7.7 in. They fit great up front though.

                            - Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT
                            - 255/35/18
                            - 338$ @ TireRack.com
                            - Great tires , sticks beyond belief on dry road , had SP9000's before and was very happy with those so wanted something similar.

                            FRONT-
                            - Yokohama Parada Spec 2
                            - 225/35/18
                            - don't remember, not on tirerack
                            - also good , stick very well, comparing them to my previous Dunlop SP9000's they might be slightly worse on the wet.
