I believe he's asking about personal experience and not the actual fill/drill process.

I didn't know tuner lugs were bad. What's wrong with them?

Con-wheels are generally considered strong enough to track with.

Plus-for street wheels it is way faster and cheaper than a hub swap.

It's a lug nut with a smaller outer diameter to fit into smaller holes. Usually they are spline drive and require a matching wheel key to fit into the smaller hole to remove them.

As far as fill and drill people's opinions vary but everybody agrees they shouldn't be used for track use as most wheels people are fill and drilling arnt even forged. But many people feel comfortable with them on the street, I personally drive pretty hard on the street from time to time sooo yeah it's your call

Does it matter what kind of style 5s they are or do all style 5s have the same 74.1mm center bore like the RC090 style 5s?

Only E39 wheels have that centerbore. Others are 72.56.

Been seeing quite a few sets of one-piece style 5's for sale locally for dirt cheap. Whats a fill 'n' drill running cost wise these days?

Correct me if I'm wrong here but, this is my conclusion of fill & redrill, if I missunderstand or you need to add more accurate info, please do so.

Pros- You get the correct bolt pattern for your car, have tons of wheel choices & no longer being limited, to 4 lug wheel market.

Cons- If not done correctly, you will end up with major issues.
Center bore sizing has to be the exact diameter of the car you're installing the wheels onto., this requires hub spacers and like mentioned earlier, maybe switching to a stud conversion as opposed to lug bolts.

                              Good luck on your decision
