    Wheel size Recommendations..

I would like to put new wheels on my '89 e30 325ix. Right now it has stock suspension but would like to upgrade that soon as well. I would like to know if anyone has suggestions on the correct offset that would be needed when adapters will be used. I have found some on ebay that I like but just don't know enough about wheels and tires to be sure. The more I research, the more I question myself.

    17" - Style 32
    Size = 17x7.5, offset = 41mm FRONT
    Size - 17x8.5, offset = 41mm REAR

I don't think these will work, but just wanted to make sure. From the research it looks like I will need an offset around 21-25, but just didn't know with the 4x100 to 5x120 adapters.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

You should be able to achieve those offsets with adapters. The thinnest they offer is 18mm. Get in touch with 8380 Labs and they'll hook you up.

the 7.5" will fit with an offset between 30-35 and you can use a 225 tire if you can find one with the right profile.

the 8.5" will be much tougher and you'll be pretty much stuck with a 205 tire or smaller.

anything much less than ET30 will limit how much tire you can fit. ET25 on a 7.5" wide wheel means a 205 at most. ET20 will rub no matter what, unless your suspension is stock height.

things are tight back there and up front..

Ok, just wanted to make sure these would work. Thanks in advance! Do I require any spacers? I thought I wanted to be around 35 offset.

        Wheel - 16x7
        Offset - et37
        Tire - 205/45/16

        Thanks,

        Dave

Yes that will fit right on the iX. Why such small tires though?

That is what came with the wheels. What would you suggest?

205/50/16 would be the proper size.
