Thanks for all your input guys. After looking around I ordered these performance masterpieces "Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring NT Tire 185/60R14 82H". These should slide around nicely on the DD m20 =). And for 300 bucks I wouldn't mind burning these up every 6 months or 10k miles.

The lack of hate you received in this thread is astounding. I'm ashamed for all of r3v.

$300 isn't exactly cheap, is it?

I Imagine you could pickup some shittier tires for $150-200

Heh, guess I got here just in time. Buying tires specifically so they're less safe and effective? I'm no stranger to skinny tires (I've owned a Triumph Spitfire and a 2002), but I guess it just scares me a little that people do this with the sole intention of driving around near the limits of these purposefully crappy tires. Probably not going to be an issue, but the mindset freaks me out a bit. Most people buy these tires because they're cheap and they drive like old people. I don't think even the tires' manufacturers would expect anyone to put them through any kind of stress and expect good results.

...I'm such an old person for my age. :(

Cheap compared to what a set rear ps2's run on my other car and those are only good for 12k.

So, when do you plan to post your part out thread?

But seriously, you clearly don't know how to drive like a total idiot, as I am sure that a stock E30 could overwhelm even the best of 14" street tires on the street.

You guys are making this all too difficult with all these exotic and rare brands you have to search out...

Just start with any tire and ArmorAll the tread. Problem solved.

Well you wouldn't see a part out since this would become part of my ever growing spare parts pile for my PR03 car =P.

As far as the driving like a idiot comment I don't think anybody I raced door to door with in my second season of PR03 last year would have anything negative to say.

Yes, my IS can overwhelm a good pair of 14"s if I am pushing hard but obviously that thresh hold comes at much slower speeds with a crap pair. I drive a lot of low traffic back roads on my daily commute but now and again I will come around a bend to see a sheriff coming the other way. With crap tires and rain I have come around corners starring straight at a oncoming Sheriff with the car twitching for traction on or under the posted speed limit. So far I have never had a cop give to much interest while driving the e30 on the limit. Now when I use to travel the same roads and try to have fun in my old e60 m5 I had different results. When cops see you in a flashy load car traveling double+ over the posted MPH they tend to interject themselves into your daily life a little more than in a old beater e30 with crap tires sliding around a bit near the posted MPH =P
