Thanks for crushing my hope, asshole.

I didn't want to get them, but Hankook is slacking on the 225/50 RS2 rollout. I was already planning on chucking the Falkens when the sticky tires arrive anyways, but now I think I'll pitch a tent when I get the RS2's.

The Ziex's are pretty good, but I have Bridgestone Potenza RE950's on right now and I love them. Dont know if they are still in production though.

i also have re950s on my 'caps, freaking GREAT all season tire. pretty comfy, but not too sloppy on the sidewall (for a 60 profile that is) and amazing grip in dry and wet; honestly they felt almost as grippy as my pirelli pzero rossos but just less sharp (14" vs 16"). they also handle well enough in snow, and damn if they seem like they haven't worn at all in a year and a half.

Yeah I've had mine for almost two years now. Trust me thats an eternity for tires on a car I drive. I need new ones now and I think I might buy them again (if I can find them).

The RE950's have about the stiffest sidewalls in the all-season category, up there with the Nero M&S. They're also useless in the snow, so don't consider them all-seasons in practical terms.

I found them acceptable in the snow in 215/45-17.

I can get away with running high performance summer tires all year around. It's Georgia afterall.

Yeah, I've been in Georgia when it snowed once - you people couldn't get around with blizzaks on! Atlanta basically shut down when there was about an inch of the white stuff. HA!

I remember the BLIZZARD OF '05. It was a bit of ice and 1/2 inch of snow. I think I can manage.

FWIW, the Bridgestone RE950 is now the RE960 on TireRack.

Note that until May 6, Bridgestone is offering a $100 rebate when buying a set of 4 RE960s.

                              They have them in 14".

I've had the same happen at Thunderhill.....only it was bone dry. As mentioned, the sidewalls on Ziex 512s are too soft (good for street, bad for track). The Azenis Sports I ran were a much better tire. A set of 15x7s for the track are in my plans. More performance tire options for sure. Hankook RS2s perhaps.
