Tires for Hartge 15x7 et26 wheels?

These will be on my daily driver so treadwear is important. What the biggest tires I can use? Thanks.

I'd like to run 225/50 without any rubbing.

Only certain 225s Quan....not all tires are created equal. Some examples:

Yokohama ES100s for sure. Certain BFGs, Dunlops, and Falken tires. Since its for daily, think about Falken Ziex 512s. I have 225/50s w/ no rubbing. Good all-around tire.

Man, when i bought my car it had 225/50/17's on it. They looked horribly. Never drove it with them though. 'Twas like my jeep.

225/50-17 would be hugely oversized, almost a full 2" larger than stock diameter. 225/50-15 is a proper size for the e30.

225/50/15 bfg gforce sports, good grip in both dry and wet and a 340 tread rating for ~75$ , cant really beat that nowadays.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

There is really no "better" - it's up to your personal preferences.

                      Similar profile / sidewall height.

225s will have more lateral grip, but will transition less quickly / have reduced sharpness compared to the 205s.

225s will be heavier, so you will likely experience very slightly reduced acceleration - you will be able to carry more speed out on the track, though.

The only issue to worry about is really how much room you have w/ your wheels --- the 225s may rub the fenders or the struts, depending on how much offset you have --- 205s will fit like a charm.

225s will be fat 'n' wide, and "Monster Meat" lookin' --- very cool :D

If you're around this weekend lets meet for coffee. I'll let you drive my chit so you can draw your own conclusions.

Get 225/50/15. Every tire in 225 will fit, the "some tires" rule only applies to Ronal LS wheels (because they are closer to the strut).

Why 225 vs 205 for autox?
