    Spare Tire Size

I need to know if a 225/50-15 tire on a 15x7 rim will fit in the spare tire well without interfering with the trunk floor cover. Can anyone confirm that?

I haven't tried that specific size but I doubt it will fit as well as stock.

Go by a tire store. If they have one in stock, ask them if you could do a test fit. Put the tire in the trunk without a rim. You should get a pretty good idea about fit.

I have ran a few tires in the trunk. A 195 fits with no issues on a 14" rim. I know that whatever specs my winter tires are (General Altimax(which are cheap and decent)) will not drop in the tire well.

Why not measure the the length and add it up?
I can measure up on my next break if that helps.

Well this setup fits fine just not flush as a 14" spare would

As you can see its a wider tire than stock so it sticks out higher in the wheel well.

Whats the wheel width? A 205 fits on a 7" wide wheel. That is the stock size for the ix and M3.

If that is an 8" wheel, thats why it doesn't fit. Offset and diameter are irrelevant.
