    Borbet Type C's

Does anybody have any info on these rims? Like weight? I have found a set very reasonably priced, and was wondering if anybody here had them. I really want to see pics of them on an e30, as I have only seen photos on Borbets website.

    TIA

jweb and Stu Mc have them, do a search for them. They are quite heavy, I think even the 15" version is around 20lbs.

thanks TJ, i didnt know Stu had 'em, i will check them out.

BTW, when you say they are a bit on the heavier side at 20lbs, what does a "light" wheel weigh?

I think what TJ meant was that 20lbs for a 15in wheel is HEAVY.

My 17x7 MM11-2's are 21.8lbs each, on the heavy side for 17's

The ones im looking at are 16 x 7.5, no tires(suggestions), and one bent one.

Are they the ones from "Werksmini"?
            They're in pretty rough shape.

when I talked to robert he said that 4th one was fux0red.

either way, if you can get em repaired, I like the rims a lot, and so do a lot of other people (on eBay = $$$) . We determined they weigh about 19 or 20lbs each, based on knowing the 15 and 17" weights.

yea Kris, they are roberts rims. If when I look at them it appears i can have them fixed, then I will buy them and will pass them on to you, you do have first dibs(depending on if I sell them...)

My 16x7.5 Borbet Type E's weigh 19.5lbs, which I think is a little heavy for 16s.

"Light" would be 15x7 Kosei K-1's, which are 14.5lbs. Or extremely light would be 16x7 SSR Comps at only 11lbs.

I have them in 16 X 7.5. They definetly weigh a lot. I can really feel that they hurt my performance off the line. However, to me its worth it because they look good and the handling is greatly improved comming from a 14 inch wheel. I would definetly buy them again for what I paid. $250 w/ tires

I think that Kosei's weight in Tire Rack is BS, I got my wheels with tires mounted, and let me tell you, it feels like it weighs 14.5 WITH tires.

Edit: lol at TJ's post count

Dude why are you beating on Werksmini? Remember Cavet Emptor. So if he buys them from him that is his issue.

If He didn't want to lower his price so you could buy them them don't trash his sale.
