You should not need to run any spacers with those wheels, even with 225/45/16 tires.

Are you sure, the previous owner said they rubbed on the front struts ... ? Id definately prefer to not use spacers, but rubbing is a pain in the ass.

Bent struts is my guess, or the tires had huge rim protectors on both sides.

I can assure you that with straight struts, those wheels should 110% fit without spacers.

Well, unfortunately they rub, but oddly only when Im in reverse, and backing out of a tight space like a parking spot. Is this normal? I would think it wouldnt matter if I was going forwards or backwards to rub, but either way Im getting 8mm spacers.

It was really odd, because I went out and pushed the car pretty hard when I first got em on and had no issues, I only realized the problem when I backed out of my spot at work this afternoon.

Run universal 3mm spacers. They are extremely cheap (I paid like $15/pair for mine), and you won't even need longer lugs. Plus they keep the rim hubcentric (5-10mm spacers are NOT hubcentrc).

I've seen it work, and with wider tires.

Something is different/damaged with his setup.

I don't get it - how's this work? How does the wheel stay where it's supposed to? Is there still enough left on the hub to seat the wheel?

With 5mm, there is usually the slightest bit of hub out there.

Past that, there really is nothing left. Scary, but people actually DO let the lugs hold the wheel onto the car.

Where can I pick up a set of those 3mm spacers, especially for that price? I can slide an envelope between the strut and the tire, its rare that they do rub but Id like to solve that problem.

Uh, yeah - my 85 euro had some random no-name universal 4 lug wheels that were NOT hubcentric - the lugs were all that kept them on there
