Has anyone made use of the 16x8 Rota Slipstream wheels from the GB?

Unless one is racing for a lot of money, I don't see a point in running anything wider than 225. Just for learning and recreation, 225's are more than enough.

But eh, do as you please.

Jay, you know I won't do it anyway. I don't want to sink more money into these shitboxes.

I've gotten my emails back, just got one today in fact.

            I'd try again.

                    Crazy

                    1) when I ordered my set two weeks ago 18racing advertised these as et25.

                    2) With Dinan camber plates (3 degree), no rubbing with my 205/50/16 tires

                    3) These would have looked dope if they moved the hub back instead of extending them - can you imagine slips with a lip?

                    4) Jessica at 18racing was very communicative - I got a reply or a phone call back within 24 hours of my contacting them - every time.

Now for the bad news: I just noticed that Big-O tires bent one of the rims while installing the tires. They said they would fix the rim... the bend isn't causing pressure loss and is minor, so should I leave well enough alone or allow them to fix it? The thing is that I don't want those idiots touching anything I own ever again... due to the fact that I had to argue my case and they weren't ready to accept responsibility for damage that was clearly caused by them makes me apprehensive - what if they damage the rim even more out of spite? (am I being paranoid?) Is it fair for me to get it repaired at a place of my choosing and ask them to reimburse me?

                    TIA,
                    Mark

we use a wheel repair place all the time at work (body shop) they can straighten lips, fix scratches, reweld cracks/gouges. they will prob send it to a place like that. if you are unsure of the quailty of the repair shop they will choose see if you can take it to the shop of your choice and they will reemburse (sp) you for the costs. there is really nothing wrong with a properly repaired wheel.

I'd fight for them to pay for a brand new rim to replace it.

Would it be silly/stupid to leave as-is if the tire isn't losing air? Would a minor bend produce balancing issues?

Seriously? If they did concede and offered to pay for a new rim, do you guys think 18racing could sell just one? If this was a GB, they wouldn't want to break up a set, correct?

i would make it THEIR problem. they are liable for damaging your wheels, ESPECIALLY if they were brand new when u brought them in.

Just dragging up some of the complaints about the lack of lip on theses wheels, wouldn't the way that they have changed the offset give extra clearance for bigger calipers? If they had extended the lip instead of the hub/bore part they might have had complaints about lack of clearance from bigger calipers, not unlikely seeing as they are marked as racing wheels.
