Has anyone made use of the 16x8 Rota Slipstream wheels from the GB?

I took my car to Big-O yesterday, and the manager, the same guy who got all defensive when I brought the bend to his attention, was ultra cool and apologized for the damage his shop had caused. He showed me a bent 22" Breyton they took off a new sixer (which was still on the lift, btw) and told me Keystone was coming by later to pick up my Rota and the Breyton. Anyway, we put on the spare and I left... that must have been less than 24 hours ago. I just got back from Big-O with the fixed rim back on the car! I don't want to know how they fixed the rim so quickly, but it's done. Keystone did a good job, but it's not perfect - I can feel the imperfection when I glide my fingers around the lip. Also, they resprayed the entire rim flat black, which isn't what I expected, but oh well - we'll see how well they color matched once I wash the car and get all the brake dust off the other three...

I would not take it back to them. They are obviously fuckups becasue it isnt easy to bend a wheel.

I worked at a tire store briefly a few years ago and I just cant see a justified reason for bending a rim.

Agreed, easy enough to scratch if you are careless/lazy but they must have fucked up real bad to bend the thing.

tyre store = low $ employes = low skill/experence =bent/scratched.broken wheels
worked for discount for a short time inbetween jobs, and had lots of experence from the vw shop doing tyres, it was a low paying job with little reguard for experence in relation to the pay. not much future in it. on par with pumping gas. except with some skill

Yeah, they are nice people but have little to no pride in their work. Even if they are getting low pay, they should still try and do the best job possible, yeah? IMO, a good work ethic shouldn't be dependent on pay scale.

While I was there 3 guys with a black 91 NSX were getting tires mounted on brand new LMs with gold spokes/mesh. They said they drove from Duarte (30+ miles) because they had heard Big-O did good work. Before going to Big-O, I talked to a GTI buddy who lives on VW Vortex and he too said a lot of people recommend Big-O

Too late in the game now, but I found a good place in Brea that has brand new 'touchless' equipment including a road force balancer. PM me if anyone needs their info.
