    Offset Vs. Backspacing?????

what is the difference???? i think i got an i deal... if you have a 6inch wide wheel with 0 offset the surface on whitch the hub mounts to we be directly in the middle of the wheel?? but the same wheel whith the same offset will have 3 inches of back spacing???right

the reason i am asking is because i lik these wheels

    but they are 0 offset???

for the 15x8, you probably want around 20mm spacers in there if it is a 0mm offset Those wheels will probably stick out past your fenders though, maybe even rub on ur fenders.

As for the front, what is the offset? If it is indeed 0mm as well, put 20mm in the front as well.

Remember you have to clear your strut housings on both front/rear.

      no

that would make his overall offset -20, which he would need something like+20 or +25.....

don't quote me on that tho cause i have no idea what i'm talking about

That doesn't mean that he doesn't need 20mm spacers to pull the rims away from the shocks.

you are wrong, and wayfast is right.

a lower # puts the wheel further out, so zero in this case (15x8 ) would mean your wheel would be sticking WAY out of the fenders, not anywhere near the strut.

a higher # means the wheel is closer to the strut, so for an ET40 wheel, yeah he'd need a 20mm spacer (effective offset would now be et20), but with a offset of 0 and a 20mm spacer, the effective offset would indeed be -20, and that would be very very bad..

I have no idea, nobody uses backspacing on BMW wheels - they all specify an offset. it doesn't matter anyway, those wheels will not fit on your car. even if they did the rears are going to stick out a lot, you'll have to run a massive euro-stretch to pull it off.

                  That is correct.

15x8 et0 will be sticking out of the fenders close to an inch. How could spacers help?

                    http://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html There, that should help.

Literally 15 seconds Googling, FWIW. Just a thought.

Euro stretch is tires that are too narrow for the rims width, so they angle in from the rim edge. Buys you a little extra room.
