    Tire Fitment on Ronal LS

Hey everyone. So I have a '93 ic (this is an E30 still), on stock suspension. Rolling on 15' Ronal LS's. The rubber I bought the wheels with are absolute trash and I gotta get some all seasons I can run the winter with.

Question about fitment seems to come down to 205/55R15 vs 225/50R15. I get the impression from everything else I've read that either will fit under the wheel arch and not rub (am I wrong here?), so it seems to be more a question of the look. Anyone running either setup that they could post a picture of, or just have a suggestion on this note? Obviously one's also gonna give a bigger contact patch.

    Thanks for your time

225 would require fender rolling with these wheels if memory serves me correctly.

I'd just go with the 205/55.

I have 225/50/15 tires on my LS but I am not super slammed. I don't have any pics but I can take some tomorrow.

OP it kinda depends on tire manufacturer and what spring/shock combo you are running.

Soft low springs and a 225/50 it's gonna rub. Stiff low springs and weight in back will probably rub on larger bumps.

Look through the what suspension height thread that is here. http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=52154

Have to run a 225 50 makes the car drive/ride so nice

Also check out this thread. There are several post about 225 vs 205s with 15x7.5 Ronals. Just remember there are a few variations of LS when it comes to offset and this can make a difference. I believe the ones that best fit E30s had an ET24 (Later made wheels have a ET25). Kinda like I and IX weaves, I think they made one with a higher offset of ET35 and I think one 4x100 at ET20.

My friend has Ronal LS on his car and they look awesome. Once of my favorite wheels for an E30. He runs 225-50-15s on his vert and is lowered on Bilstiens/H&Rs, no rubbing. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...postcount=5050 This is actually the response to his post. Since overall tire width varies from manufactures, you have to make sure its is on the narrower side of the 225.

First i got to say that this is an amazing looking car - i quickly went through your restoration thread and it's just outstanding. I just ordered some Ronal as well and your stance is perfect!! Do you mind sharing your setup? with approximate drops?

                  Thanks!

                    Thanks!
                    Thank you!

The suspension is H&R Sport springs with Koni SAs at all four corners; OE everything else with the exception of offset FCABs.

I'm not sure of the exact drop, but I can measure to the tops of the wheel arches if you like. Interestingly enough, that red car sits roughly as low as my other E30 which is a late model on H&R Race springs with Bilstein Sports and E90 drop hats.

                      That would be awesome thanks!

                        24-1/2" at the front
                        24-5/8" at the rear

As you may know, rear wheel arches are higher (farther from the ground) on early fixed roof cars.

Thank you - I have a '91 vert (w/lower arches) - seems like most people go for the H&R sports. Do you think that's a wise choice for me?

I went with H&R Sports for this car because of the look, the ride comfort, the slightly improved handling and the price. They're next to impossible to beat at their price point if you want the best balance of all those things.

I just purchased a set of these Ronal LS wheels to put in place of the stock bottlecaps. Does anyone know what size center caps go with the 15" Ronal LS wheels or how I can look up that information? Thank you
