I'd go for even wider lips on the 15x6 ET38s, those are perfect for deep dish (they are close to the inside of the car, leaving all the room you want for big lips on the outside).

I am looking at a set of 15x6.5 et38 BBS RS's. What size lip would you suggest with that particular wheel without poking out or having to run a stretched tire? Tire size as well for the new lipped wheel? I went with H&R oe sports for a very mild drop since it will be a DD.

Yeah, even with the high arch car it's entirely likely.

215/40/16 is easier, and has a better chance of fitting without rolling than 215/45. But at that point the sidewalls are SHORT, meaning the tire will be very undersized. A car would have to be SLAMMED to pull that off. I recommend 205/45.

215/40/17 is the default option for that setup. There are a select few 225/35 and 225/40 tires to choose from, but none of them are sticky enough to warrant going for it. 235/40/17 will only be possible with a lot of fender massaging (beyond a basic roll).

I'd suggest getting a GOOD set of 215/40s or looking for different wheels. Or since you're already getting creative, see how much caliper space there is behind the wheels and have the hub machined down 5mm if possible. If you pull that off, 235/40/17 is a fender roll away.

Nice, those will clear the struts by just a few mm's.

At 15x7.5" (widened by an inch at the lip) they become ET25, which makes them ideal for 225/50/15 tires. This will give a perfectly square sidewall. Keep in mind that it will be so close to the front suspension that not all tires in that size will definitely work, namely the Bridgestone S-03 and Hankook R-S2. I suggest the BFGoodrich G-Force Sport and Falken ZE-912 as excellent choices that are guaranteed to fit.

IE fender flares and massive camber at all times :)

so im looking at rota slipstreams. 16x7 et40. obviously i would need spacers and such. but would that clear a lowered car with no fender rolling, and is it safe to run something with that high of an offset on our cars?

Why do you want the fronts pushed further out? Would look better the other way around in my opinion.

Someone once told me exactly how much room the IE flares add, but I forget. It was a lot though, so the extra inch you'd need should be fine, especially with the camber.

It's safe as long as you're running good spacers. You'd want 20mm for the optimum look. 225/45/16 will fit, or go 205/50/16 to be conservative.

You'd have to be getting a smoking deal on the rims to make it worthwhile though. Once you realize that a good set of spacers and bolts is $200+, it makes a lot more sense to just buy new 16x8 ET20 ones from 18racing.com.

Im thinking about getting some Rota Slipstreams for my IX because they have a large offset. I like the design as well and the fact that they are light. I am looking at the 16X7" ET 45's. What size tires should I look for? I figure that ET45 should work without any trouble as long as the tires are sized correctly. Thanks!
