I am planning on buying some soon. www.toxicrides.com has a set of lightweight black locks. They did a spotlight on them in p. bmw.

Well obviously it doesn't because that is how long the bolts stick out the back of the stock bottlecaps.

    Thanks for the reply backtrail.

I was just looking at the 80mm of threads and thinking they were ready to eat some paint.

Well you just line up the wheel with the studs and put it on, instead of setting it on the hubcentric lip. Its way easier. You shouldn't damage anything unless you are very careless. BMW used to use studs... my 2002 has them. :P

I bet it is - but my knowledge is limited to bimmers, so that doesn't really answer the question for me (sorry)

It is just like putting a wheel on any car with studs...

Is it posiable to damage the paint in the wheel holes if you get careless putting a rim on?

And the wheel has everything to do with how many threads go into the hub. Different wheels have different thicknesses from the bolt mounting areaon the wheel to the hub mounting surface. Obviously this doesn't apply to studs.

I am not even going to continue this conversation.

I just ordered a set.. I don't need the really long ones, but you can't beat $50 for a whole set at the stock length. I'm looking forward to changing wheels every weekend now :D

I realise that but the thickness of the wheel will determine how many threads go into the hub. The bottlecaps and the stock bolts have about 1" of threads that go into the hub.
Even the SCCA requires 8 threads.

I'm sure it will be fine....I hope.;) If BigD isn't worried about it, then I have no reason to worry for him.
