I told about the too long stud bases hitting the brake mechanisms, because I felt that somebody could get longer base studs because you claimed that the bases of the studs on first post were too short, and that would lead to major problems. And I do see it relevant.
In this picture you see an oem e30 rim bolt, the push dial in bottom is set to ~25-26mm which is quite near to an inch. As you can see the threaded section is less than inch.

In the second picture you see the e30 stock front hub(sorry, I had no separate rear hub on stock), with a bolt turned as deep as it will go(sorry I had no stud so you have to use your imagination), as the threaded section is less than inch as we figured on first picture, we'll understand that inch long section on stud would collide brakes(on rear of course).

And finaly a third picture, oem e30 front hub, oem e30 brake dics and oem e30 steelie bolted together with oem e30 bolt, same method as in real car. The bolt end doesn't come out from back of the hub.

This is my last post to this topic, I wish not to argue over this, and don't want to provoke anyone, I just wanted to state that those studs in first post are ok, while longer base studs are not. I hate all the missinfo spreading around net, specially on message boards I personaly use on daily bases.
