There are no 235 16" tires either, before you get excited.
225 is the widest it gets with 16" wheels and E30s, without heavy fender massaging.
will 245/40/16 work well on a e30?

id still really like to see a 245 on the rear. that shit would look badass... anyone know of any pics floating around with it? i think alex runs that, but he has super pulled fenders. i think i will sort of give appearance a bit more favor over driveability, just a little.Leave a comment:

Who makes it? I run a 225/40 and it tucks too hard. I'd run 245/40 next time around (I'd need a small spacer up front)Leave a comment:

I was about to ask you where you found such a tire - then I clicked on the thread and read it.
225's are a lot for an E30, unless it has more than 200whp. And it DOES look beefy.

And that's with a 7" wide wheel. 225's on 8" wheels look downright intimidating (I was just admiring my friend's 16x8 Rotas on his car last week).Leave a comment:

this is my plan, and still for the fronts... but i like the appearance of some meaty looking tires in the rear. picture the view of the back of an e30, with fat rubber...

I would just run a 225/45 r16. Unless you have a HIGH HP Turbo or S50 swap, you really don't need any more tire than that.Leave a comment:

rolled fenders and mounted on 8" wide wheels. my problem is i cant find a proper tire size. i want to run that particular size since it doesn't throw the speedo off by much (1.14% fast), but can't find tires in that size. what is the widest one can safely go on a 8" rim?Tags: None
