Well then. Like I said, it totally depends on the tire used. R-comps have funny sizing guidelines, some models may require a small spacer to clear the front struts.

That said, any street 245/255 will work just fine.

Wheels are on the way. Two weeks and we'll have an example.

Bronze... in true race car spirit, they're $10 per wheel cheaper and there's no performance hit for saving the money.

Not the case. I test fit the wheels before taking them down to get the tires mounted and the lip rubs the strut housing in the front.

Interesting. 17x8.5" ET29 will clear even with 245's mounted. This is within 2.xxx mm of that setup on the inside, at the very least wheels alone should work 100%.

I'm sorry to hear of your experience, I honestly am. Did you try both sides (to ensure the strut isn't tweaked)?

Fit with about a 5 mil spacer. I need some extra to clear the tire shoulder, Any idea where I can find 10mm hub centric 4x100 spacers?

As promised... at the track this weekend. 12mm spacers in front, none in the rear.

Well when you're putting down more HP and torque than an E46 M3, it takes a bit of rubber to keep it on the track!
