How Important is a matching Centerbore and will this offset work for an E30
I was looking at the wheel. And the first big hole is flat for what looks to be a ring. The other 2 are continously getting smaller so I am guess that the closest one to the car is were the ring is going.
I am going to Discount Tire Center, which I was told has the hubcentric rings. So should I buy the hubcentric rings and get the spacer 57.1 in and 57.1 out OR should I do the spacer only and do 57.1 in and ? out
Yes measure the wheels centerbore on the inside mounting surface .
If you end up with universal spacers then the wheels will still vibrate like shit .
You have to get semiexpensive made-for-BMW specific spacers that have the centerbore protrusion on them .
The spacer will be hubcentric to the hub and then the wheel will be hubcentric (with rings) to the spacer for a shummy free (mostly) ride .
All this is necessary because most cars have the wheels centered on the weel studs ...once you run up a couple lugnuts the wheel us centered to the hub .
But BMW's are not lugcentris they are hubcentris whis means even with all of the lugbolts on it is still the hub flange that is centering the wheel ..not the lugs .
The guy that is doing my spacers said he can have the inlet hole our hub size and the protrusion the wheels size. Is this what you are talking about? Will this me more suseptable to vibration?
If you were in my position would you get the rings and the 57.1 inlet w/ the 57.1 protrusion that goes into the wheel? or the 57.1 inlet w/ the 65mm protursion? I am sorry if I keep on kinda asking the same question but I just want to make sure I understand and get the right stuff the very first time.
I would suggest having the spacer made to have the protrusion our 57.1 size .
That way you can interchange wheels in the future while keeping the spacers and also it will make the spacers easier to sell as well .
Plus the cost for the appropriate hubcentric rings is negligible .
Oh and using stud kits makes absolutely no difference .
The wheel is still centered bu the hub not the lugs .
