ya no kidding. i put up a s-shop request to get the Alpinas and Ronals on my car, so i can compare them to the Sportmaxxs. maybe that will help me decide.

Just search, you can find your car with plastics and those wheels all over. Kopis look damn good with that car color I think.

You get your toe problems fixed yet?

I personally think going 1 inch bigger on wheels that are virtually identical to the ones you have now (Euroweaves) is pretty silly. Ronal LS has a very nice lip to it and would be an option, IMO. However, I absolutely love how the Sportmax wheels look on the E30, so much so that I'm buying a set of 16" in black for my cabrio this week. I agree with the comments above, in that if you keep the diving boards, go silver, if you're gonna go plastic eventually, get the black. Remember the window in the black pic is tinted too, so you have to take that into consideration.

BTW, it shouldn't matter that 3 other people on this board have the same sportmaxs with black inserts; this is an enthusiast website and represents .001% of the population, if that. What are the odds you will ever see another car with the same wheels in person?

Good luck with whatever you decide!

Euroweaves on his e30 would be a very subtle but effective upgrade for his e30. They don't look cheap like sport max's, no fake bolts or multi lug holes and a much higher quality wheel to boot.

I'd go with euroweaves shod with some nice 225/50/15's. Sport max wheels with thier wide lips and low offsets are better suited to e30's that
are slammed which his is not, unless he plans on dropping the car down alot more, they're going to look silly especially with stretched and shorter tires.

As far as having the same wheels as a few other members on the forums, I'd personally would not want to have the same exact wheels as someone else, forums or in person.

Ya I like kopis a lot, especially on plastic bumpered red cars. But I don't really want to go to 17", tires are expensive and I here the ride quality just goes to shit.

Car is going in for toe adjustment later this week.

I appreciate the input, and I agree with you too. I am tempted by the sportmaxxs because they are cheap and look good on some cars, but the extra wide rim sticking past the fender is not my thing. I have allways wanted LS's...a lot. I just have to decide if I want them or the Alpinas for sale in the classifieds section. They're both the same price, same size, similar weight, so it's based purely on looks. And since I have never seen a car with that style Alpina before, I wanted to get them p-shopped so I would have some idea.

I'm not really diggin' the SportMax. I'm not really a fan of any 6-spoke wheel though.
I'd try and find some silver mesh wheels... not necessarily euro 'weaves, but maybe some Ronal LSs?

If I could find a 16" in silver with 0 offset, I would be very tempted to get those over the Ronals. But, the Alpinas are cool too :) and I would def. be the only one rocking those!
Just a heads up - a zero offset wheel sticks out more than a +15 offset wheel. Those 6-spoke sportmax 501s in et15 fit flush (or close) whereas the 002s in et0 stick out some, unless you've got lots of camber dialed in.

Yep, the +15 offset will stick out less from the hub than the ET0 wheels. The Euro stretched look you're talking about is on wheels with lower or no positive offset, ie the Sportmax with 0 offset.

You wouldn't want the same wheels as anyone else, yet you are recommending Euroweaves? Might want to check out this FS thread. Looks like there will be a few more sets on the road soon...there goes that idea. :D

I guess I wasn't reading right, I thought those sportmaxxs had the +15 offset. I def. would not go for the ET 0, but the +15 is still very tempting. And they're half the price of the LS/Alpinas.

I said I wouldn't want to run a very common wheel or the same exact wheel as someone else if I could help it. I gave my opinion on what he should run based on the wheels he threw out there.

If I had to go with a common wheel, I'd much rather it be a
high quality and classic looking one like the BBS RZ or even euroweave.

On your e30 I'd go with Ls's, euroweaves, or even RZ's before sport max's.

If you're talking about the new style alpinas that abrahams is selling, I'd pass on those, they look like ebay wheels, original Kopis(that sounds funny) definitely look good on a red e30, there are quite a few of them already so if that doesn't bother you, go for it.

Ya I love Kopis on red cars, though I have never seen them on DB car. I'm not sure about the 17", I'm thinking it would loose too much in ride and tire price compared to 16" or 15", without any gain in performance. And I appreciate the comment on the LS's, that's where I am leaning right now. Those Alpinas I was looking at are the one for sale by euro3, and he did polish and paint them all nice. plus he's throwing in a few euro goodies. But I still like the Ronals more. Someone should snap up those wheels though, they are hot.
