A good wheel company can cut the wheels in two, then weld in a spacer. I've done this with a few sets of Porsche Fuchs in the past.

Usually the additional width is added to the inside, but depending on the wheel it can be added to the outside as well. The wheels will have to be refinished if they are widened to the outside which adds to the cost.

          Or.

          Ban.

Unless of course, Fuchs are steel wheels, then ignore this post, and... the one above... which refers to steel wheels.

              Fuchs are aluminum.

Here are a few of a 15x6 Fuchs being widened to 911R specs. This work was done by Harvey Weidman - Fuchs god.

                  Fuch!

What does Harvey charge? And is he open to other wheels?

just buy rms or Rs's because really they cost about the same as remembers, and you get BBS wheels, not Konigs
If you can find used RS's in good shape for the same price as brand new remembers, teach me your skills.

I found ~5 sets or real RS' ranging from 14-16 x 6.5-7. Not a single set was under 1k dollars.

Precisely...Actually there is a set of five 15's (with four centercaps) in really good shape in the FS wheel thread. Of course, they're still over 1k (and they're quite reasonably priced).

I paid 900 shipped for my Remembers w/ mounted & balanced Falken ZE 512 tires and hubcentric rings, all brand new from jlbmotorsport. For what you get, it's really an affordable wheel.

Which is precisely why Mudflaps is full of shit, as usual.

True , but not quite what the original poster had in mind by just replacing the outer lips with wider ones .

Also I believe you can only widen forged aluminum wheels ...not crap cast ones like the $150 per Remembers .

I made the suggestion when he found out that they were only one-piece wheels.

Good point on the forged v. cast. I've never tried to have cast wheel widened, or if it is even possible...
