Does anyone have experience with ASA wheels?

They're licensed by BBS, from what I can tell they just manufacture BBS-like wheels in Korea instead of germany. Really soft?

They're most certainly not heavy (or at least the ones I've perused).

    TIA

I have the ASA JS1. I like them alot, and have not bent them at all. They seem pretty solid and i dont think i will have problems with bends. They are kinda heavy. I think 21lbs for the 16/7.5.

The finish of them isnt as good as BBSs. It still seems like good quality, just doesnt look the same at all. Im happy with mine, But might end up painting them a different silver or maybe a darker color. Like everyone says, they look kinda cheap, well they are cheap lol. I paid $110 each, but i think it was worth it, and im very happy with them.

I think the term, you get what you pay for, suites this very well.

which ones are you looking at?

The AR1's, in a custom offset.

      17.2lbs for 16x17.5

I don't care about the finish, as I'm going to have them bead blasted and re-done as soon as I get them in the mail.

Not sure on the price yet, I'm investigating that still. Here's a pic of the wheels:

Patrick has those on his e30 m3.

They are good looking wheels, however matching ASA as a lower division of BBS, I didnt think much of it. However I have no proof to back up my thoughts.

I remember hearing someone had to rebalance the AR1s after like 3 months of normal driving...

Just hearsay. My friend has them on his E36 325is, they seem to be a solid wheel. His are 17x8.

Rebalance? that does not make sense, the wheels have nothing to do with a car needing to be balanced. The wheel does not loose its shape for it to cause a tire to go off balance.

If you have low profile tires and they're soft wheels, can they not hit a bump and be knocked ever so slightly out of round?

Sorry I have never personally heard of such a thing, but hey I can be wrong.

Kris, as Erick said, Pat has them on his 600hp E30 M3... they look very nice, but I am not sure about the strength and durablity. He goes by e34_biturbo on BF.com so you might want to contact him. I think you should do whatever you want to refinish them, then add real BBS emblems to the middle. They would look great. Bummer about fake 2-piece though.

If a wheel is bent, no weight in the world is going to stop the vibes. This issue was with the tires.

True. My main point was the wheel was not at fault.
