Thought I would share the refinishing journey of my LMs with you guys (sorry, no e30 content, just BBS!).
Picked them up from VRWheels, LM model 171, 18x8 +40, 5x114 redrilled to 5x112 by VRWheels. BBS Gold faces, black hardware, black/gold caps.

From the start I had planned on pulling them apart and doing something different with them. Started by stripping the whole barrel, powdercoated in the barrel, polished the lips. Faces were media blasted and anodized in clear leaving a raw aluminum look. New chrome hardware and polished BBS caps finished the look. I also reverse mounted the faces, making the ET +25.

Ran them like that for a year and then decided to change it up further. Pulled them apart again, took the faces to be powdercoated.

The final stage started last winter when I was able to find some 18x9 barrels, which I had powdercoated to match the faces and I polished the lips, swapped the rear faces onto the new barrels, and came out with this!

and one on the car:

Going to be building a set of RSs next, but for an e30 hopefully.Leave a comment:

So sweet man, and those are legit specs too.
Let me know if you decide to buy new hex caps, I designed what I believe to be the best hex caps on the market. They are 1/3rd height, are more light weight than the competition and have some cool design features.

The white centers look great.
I just dropped off my set of (5) RC090s to get filled and re-drilled...pretty excited.Leave a comment:
