Ah, I have a question. I have a set of dirty RM's. When trying to get down to polished or semi polished, what grit sand paper would you work from, and how fine would you finish with? The wheels have some rougher brake dust deposits.

So true. I saw these on cl had to have them, then e30 m3 suspension another had. This shit just keeps falling in my lap. I have been looking for several days now on where to get some valve stems from bbs and polished bolts.

No clue what to tell you really, but I have just started sanding the center nuts for my RS001's and to get rid of some deep scratches and textured finish I had to start with 150 and work my way up. I have only done one so far up to a 600 grit paper. I plan on going all the way to 2000 and everything after 600 will be wet sanded (and of course compound/polishes to finish them up)...

I do know my finger tips are F'ing hating me right now for wanting highly polished RS001 center nuts!

          ;)

Not yet I haven't, but like I said I have just started on the one to see what it will take. I have used aircraft stripper to remove the clear on all 4 however.

Usually a decent set starts in the $700 range and can go up $1200 for a nice set. He stole those BTW...

Lol no I did not steal them. I got them from a guy off cl for 380! I guess he didnt know what they are worth. One of the wheels has a slight bend though but is super easy to take out.

I just taped off the centers with duck tape and put air craft stripper on the lips and pressure washed them.
                          Polished up instantly.
I wish I had better pics before I sold them. If you look at the top of the pic you will see them.
I just touched up the spots that didnt come off with a little more stripper. That was it.

The centers are kinda crusty too. In all honesty I should probably just pull them off the car, run bcaps and get it all sorted out at once.
