225 is probably the most you'll wanna go... it might look a little funny and have diminishing returns tho.

No joke. 215s are pretty big for a stock weave.

See i want wide tires in the abck so my car would be more steable in tight corners. and also for the looks too. Is a stock basket weave 7 inch wide? or 6.5?

            6.5

are you sure tire size is causing your instability?

wide tires do not equal more stability... what are you running for suspension...

215/60 isn't exactly what I'd call a low profile tire...

205/60 is the biggest i'd go on a 14" weave, unless you're talking abuot hoosiers or something, you can get away with a 225 then. 195/60 is undersized but actually has the lowest profile..

Personally i wouldn't go wider than 195 or 205, i hate the feeling of a mushy sidewall. wide tires on narrow wheels start to have deminishing returns in my opinion.

I had 195 60 last week, and almost fucking slede of the road, after my buddy at the tire shop put 215 55 it all chaged, alot better grip and feels liek ur on rail road tracks., so i would say that 195 are the best choice for e30's.
also im running 89 m3 springs with koni shocks, silicon bushing, new control arms from a 99 m3, and 89 m3 sway bars.

You know it's funny, these cars all came with 195's stock and yet there are so many of them still on the road, yet you seem to think they're dangerous. I wonder what needs fixing here, the tires or the driver?

I have absolutely no problems controlling my 196/60s. the only problems arise from driver error, not tire size

Im sorry man but i dont drive like a granny, i take corners at 85-90 mph when the traction and width of tires matter alot!!! All im saying in this post is i wanted to see if u could get begger wider tires, witch they are already so no point of going anywider on a 6.5 inch rim.

205s were a squeze on mine - there isn't much gap tyre to strut.

I got 215 and there is still like 2 inches of room, maybe a lil less but plenty to fit 235 50.
